    Young Enterprise volunteers needed!

    Local Board Member

     

    Commitment

     

    Attend regular meetings as arranged by the Local Board

    and local YE Manager.

     

    Overview

     

    Local Boards are local committees of Volunteers

    responsible for a defined geographical area. The Local

    Board usually consists of up to 12 members with

    expertise, knowledge and contacts in local business,

    education, community networks

    Role

     

    . Works on volunteer committee to support the

    delivery of company based programmes

    . Coordinates and hosts training sessions & events

    for student companies

    . Shares knowledge, skills and experience with

    students

    . Works closely with YE staff to raise profile of YE

    . Fulfils a Local Board member defined role e.g. to support fundraising, PR, finance or other activities as agreed within the Local Board

     

    Objectives

     

    To organise, expand and develop the experience of Young Enterprise within its area, with the twin aims of giving the opportunity of participating in Young Enterprise Programmes to as many young people as

    possible whilst maintaining or improving the quality of

    the experience.

    Volunteer Opportunities at the Millin Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne

    Play Volunteer Opportunities at Millin Centre

     Millin Centre is a community centre in Benwell which offers a range of courses, training and activities suitable for the whole community. We are currently recruiting Play Volunteers to support a play area in the Millin Centre Activity Hall which takes place while parents attend social courses. Days and times will vary.

     Volunteer Responsibilities

    • To supervise and play with small children and toddlers aged 1-4 years
    • To work alongside other volunteers and Millin Centre staff to ensure children are playing safely
    • Facilitate games and songs when suitable

     Volunteer Requirements and Suitability       

    • Volunteers should be friendly and outgoing and able to work well with children and families.
    • Volunteers will be required to provide two relevant references
    • Volunteers will have a full CRB disclosure, informal interview and induction.
