On Saturday 29th January Peter Beven and Gill Naylor were part of a panel of judges assessing interviewing skills of students studying to be lawyers and barristers. Now more than ever inter-personal skills as well as knowledge of the law is needed in order to be a successful lawyer. This prestigious competition for law students gives students an opportunity to develop and test some crucial legal skills –and network too. This is an annual competition in interviewing and counselling skills. Each law school can enter one team which is assessed in live interviews with roleplaying clients.  The winning team members receive prizes of £250 each and the winning law school receives £1000 from the Law Society of England & Wales. The team also goes forward to take part in the Brown-Mosten International Client Consultation Competition in April 2012 in Dublin.  Further details of the competition can be found by clicking here.
